May 2000
|
- Mary Arthur Beebe, Executive Director of the Lake George Association
gives a presentation to the Cayuga Lake Watershed Intermunicipal Organization
(IO) members. One of the projects she was most enthusiastic about was
their Floating Classroom Program on Lake George.

January 2002
|
- IO Education Committee (EPPOC) includes Floating Classroom Project
as part of their annual work plan for 2002.
|
|
April 2002
|
- Karin Harjes, EPPOC Chair, meets with Dennis Montgomery from Cayuga
Wooden Boatworks to discuss the possibility of restoring a boat Dennis
acquired to use as a floating classroom.

|
May 2002
|
- Naimh O'Leary joins the Floating Classroom Committee (FCC) representing
both Wells College and the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network.
|
|
July 2002
|
- Erica George joins the FCC. Erica George just started teaching 7th
and 8th grade science at Boynton Middle School this Fall and is very
interested in being an educator on the floating classroom. She is very
dedicated to watershed education and has relevant experience as she
taught and coordinated the Lake George Floating Classroom for one year.

September 2002
|
- Lynn Leopold (EPPOC member) and Karin drive up to Lake George to participate
in the Lake George Association's Floating Classroom Program (both the
2 hour boat class and 2 hour lab portion at Up Yonda Farm)
|
|
October 2002
|
- Two preliminary informational meetings for school teachers in the
Cayuga Lake Watershed were held at the Interlaken Baptist Church and
a week later at the Lansing Town Hall to promote the project and collect
valuable information from teachers.

|
February 2003
|
- Dennis Montgomery acquires a 43' steel boat from the State of Vermont
which will be used as a tour boat on Cayuga Lake and as the Floating
Classroom.

Present
|
- The Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom is up and running!
